Instagram is fast becoming one of the most popular social media platforms, and there are plenty of opportunities to leverage its popularity for marketing purposes.
In this article, we're going to see how you can integrate Instagram Direct Messaging with your platform to receive all your DMs in your unified communications view.
Let’s get started.
First, click Settings on your platform’s left menu, and then click Integrations in the new left menu that appears.
As you can see, there is a note below the Facebook and Instagram icons telling you that you’ll need to first connect your Instagram account with a Facebook page, which is what we’ll do next. Without a connected Instagram profile, this integration will not work.
Switch to your Facebook page, and click Settings on the left menu.
Now scroll down under Page Settings and click Instagram.
This will open a new page where you can connect your Instagram account to your Facebook page. For this example, we’ve already connected our accounts.
Please note that when you connect the accounts, your Instagram account will be converted to a business account.
Now let’s switch back to your platform, and click Connect under the Facebook/Instagram icons in the Integrations view.
This opens a pop-up window to link the accounts.
Click Continue as if the correct account is listed.
In the next window, select the page or pages you want to link with your platform, and then click Next.
You’ll also need to enable all permissions on the next window and click Done.
Lastly, click OK in the next window that appears.
Next, you’ll need to select your correct Facebook page.
As you can see, it shows that Instagram is available since we’ve already connected our Instagram account with our Facebook page.
To complete the integration, click Connect Facebook & Instagram to the right.
Great! Our Facebook and Instagram accounts have now been linked. Let’s see how it works.
If we click Conversations on our platform’s left menu, we can read our latest messages.
And in this example, we notice that our last dummy message from Talha has an Instagram logo, obviously meaning it’s an Instagram DM.
Integrating Instagram DMs with your platform is yet another way you can use your platform to streamline your communications and keep all your messages in one convenient place.
